So one feasible approach is probably to compile and start one the simpler SDK examples (so for the first tests, you may ignore the OpenGL-related examples which caused the error message).

I think I can see why, the original poster apparently had a corrupted gtkglarea package. I had to include GLEW, GL and glut in -l (top window). If so, to which file should I link? Ask questions about Fedora that do not belong in any other forum.
